Also, we are told that letters to the editor carry a lot of weight with the politicians, as their staff review the papers, and it keeps our cause in the public’s awareness. Write a short letter to the editor of any of the Hawaiian papers that call to you, with particular attention to the Honolulu papers.

You may also go to the newspaper websites directly and type an online letter. Short, impactful letters, demanding an independent EIS for the Superferry and why you feel passionately about this, will be the most effective. Most papers want letters 250 words or less.

Lastly, the way we turn the tide on the massive media campaign of the Superferry is by getting the word out, and that means you emailing your friends to “no ride the Superferry” and check out this site.
It also means us buying radio and newspaper ads, plus flyer and printing costs. We need your donations to help fuel this great grassroots movement. The Humpback Whales, Dolphins, Honu, the Hawaiian Nene, the Albatros, the natural habitat of Hawaii, and the residents and visitors stuck in mismanaged traffic of Hawaii — all will thank you.
